I would still prefer this picture to be framed in a light border instead of the usual outer glow as seen in other pictures.
Post-process: Curves to bring out the rust on the lamp post and overall contrast, adjusted the levels to lighten picture, and hue to adjust the colour of rust. Final reduction of noise.
If you are interested in the original picture, check it out.
I like your framing here and you've captured the bird nicely. The original picture with the darker background has a gloomier atmosphere I maybe even prefer to the version you've posted.
On another note when you leave your comments on my blog you leave a URL to your text blog and I can't seem to find your photoblog from there. I'm a bit slow just thought I'd mention.
Oh Jide, I'm sorry, I guess I made a mistake when I re-typed my url. I have the habit of typing my text blog's, hehe. I'll change it ASAP. Thanks for noticing and commenting, and of course, took the trouble to search for my photoblog!! ;)

wow, original picture looks dark, almost b&w. The black bird has pink beak btw. :-) good work.
Hehe! You noticed the pink beak. It's legs are also pink, oops!
Thank you, Emré! :)
